Scenic Drive, La Honda, California

This is a huge landslide in La Honda, San Mateo County, California. It is currently under investigation to determine how deep the slide zone is. Based on the height of the scarp (~20 feet), it is believed the sliding zone might be well beyond the basalt, which was encountered approx. 20~30 feet below the surface soil. If so, then there's probably nothing we can do to stop the mother nature.
